Commissions
Commissions are appointed by the Council. Each has a constitution appropriate to its work and reports regularly to the Council.
Theological Studies
The commission assists member churches to explore common convictions on theological questions, and helps member churches to speak with one voice.
European Commission on Mission
The commission assists the member churches to work together in mission.
Church and Society
The commission:
-
facilitates consultations between those in the member churches involved in social work ministries and in political, social and economic affairs;
-
identifies major issues affecting, or likely to affect, the whole of Europe and demanding the Churches’ attention;
-
where appropriate, calls consultations to develop awareness among member Churches of these issues, bringing them to the attention of the Council and making appropriate representation to international bodies.
Fund for Mission in Europe
The commission raises and distributes funds for those Churches and Conferences in Europe which need help with their mission and social work.
