Methodist and United Church Christians call on world leaders to act at COP26
Climate Justice for all is a climate focused, youth-led, global campaign which seeks to mobilise the Methodist family on issues of climate justice.
Irene (Methodist Church in Italy), James (Methodist Church in Britain) and Mollie (Methodist Church in Britain) from the Climate Justice for All Team attended the Autumn Meeting (online) of the EMC to share about their work in preparation for the COP26 meeting in Glasgow. They challenged European Methodist and Wesleyan churches to get involved in the upcoming COP26 conference and the wider climate movement. They introduced members of the EMC to the Climate Justice for All Global Declaration which was subsequently signed by the Co-chairs of the Council.
This declaration calls on world leaders to “use COP26 to ensure that everyone’s voice is heard, and that brave and committed action is taken” towards climate justice. The Global Declaration has been published today and can be viewed here.
