Fund for Mission in Europe

Solidarity Among Methodist Churches in Europe

The Fund for Mission in Europe has been promoting and supporting connection and solidarity in Europe for 30 years. It is an important source of funding for 30 to 40 projects and programs annually - in Eastern, Western, Southern and Northern Europe.

In recent years, the fund has received donations from 21 countries and supported projects in 25 countries with more than 200,000 euros being given to projects around Europe each year. Being connected means more than just exchanging financial contributions. All of us have something to share – faith stories, experiences, spiritual life and cultural heritage. All of us need help and encouragement from others. Therefore the motto of the Fund for Mission in Europe is: To help one another – to learn from one another. The Fund for Mission in Europe aims to serve as a forum for current challenges, to facilitate mutual encouragement and prayer support and to enable encounters and the exchange of mission ideas and workers.

Our Fund Office Manager

Andreas Stämpfli

Andreas Stämpfli is the Fund Office Manager since the beginning of 2020. As former General Secretary of Connexio - the United Methodist Church's mission and ministry network in Switzerland - he has served as a member of the Fund committee for 15 years.

Andreas has always been committed to building effective networks and practising solidarity between the Methodist churches in Europe. For him, solidarity does not only mean financial support to disadvantaged people. Rather, solidarity also means recognising that people in other countries often live in different conditions than we do in our own country. Pandemic, war, power political games or different theological views affect people in many ways. For this reason, the Fund does not only collect and distribute money, but also conveys stories from various areas to raise public awareness of different European contexts.
